The Collect and Carry basket was designed for my son Max. Max loves our chickens and part of chicken ownership is collecting eggs, but when your 5 and there is often over 10 eggs, little hands struggle and lots of eggs were being dropped. So I made the first Collect and Carry Basket. After a bit of tweaking and then some scaling I ended up with a multipurpose carry basket in 3 sizes.
This pattern is quick and simple and suitable for all levels of sewing ability, with just some fabric and a bit of interfacing you will end up with a basket that you can do just about anything with. Some ideas have been of course egg collecting, crochet or knitting storage, collecting flowers, to take shopping or the the markets, and even as a gift basket.
The basket sizes are as follows excluding the handles
Small - 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" base and 2 1/2" high
Med - 11" x 7 1/2" and 3 1/2" high
Large 12 1/2" x 9 1/2" and 4" high
